  • Football Friendlies

    Mon 02 Mar 2020

Well done to our school football team of Aidon, Charlie W, Dougal, Emily, George, Harvey, Mason, Ned, Sam and Will who took part in four friendlies tonight at Heathfield School. Our first match was against Lydeard St Lawrence, where Emily scored to take the lead early on, before adding a second to clinch the match, 2-0 to Oake. Next up were Hatch Beauchamp, who were tough opponents, and finished 0-0. Then, we played Cheddon Fitzpaine B, who had previously beaten us 4-0, suggesting this would be a tough match. However, Ned sneaked in an early goal. We led for most of the match, until they snuck in an equaliser. We were holding out well, but unfortunately, they scored with the final kick of the match. Our final match was against Priorswood, who were tough opponents last time; however, we had a strong performance with Harvey scoring with a great finish, before Dougal took it past one player, went on a short solo run before curling it into the top corner. A great way to finish. All players played well and had an enjoyable time.

    Results:

OBN 2-0 Lydeard St Lawrence (Emily x2)

    OBN 0-0 Hatch Beauchamp

OBN 1-2 Cheddon Fitzpaine B (Ned)

OBN 2-0 Priorswood (Harvey and Dougal)

  • Quiz Team Success!

    Mon 24 Feb 2020
Congratulations to our formidable quiz team, who won the Tone Valley Partnership Annual Quiz. Together, they all worked hard, using their knowledge from a wide array of subjects. Going into the final round, they were level on points with Milverton, but managed to grab that one extra point to see them crowned as champions with 77 points. It was a tight competition in the end, with all 4 schools coming within 7 points of each other. Congratulations to Gracie, Imogen, Jacob, Sadie, Thomas and Will.
