Literacy Tree

At Oake, Bradford and Nynehead Primary School, our Year 2/3 writing curriculum is taught through The Literacy Tree, a book-based approach that immerses children in high-quality, engaging texts. Through carefully planned learning sequences, pupils explore a range of exciting stories, develop a rich vocabulary and build the skills needed to become confident, independent writers. Children learn to write for different purposes and audiences, using modelled, shared and independent writing opportunities to develop their ideas. By drawing inspiration from high-quality literature, we encourage creativity, deepen comprehension and foster a love of reading and writing, enabling every child to achieve their full potential as a communicator.
