Welcome

On behalf of our children, staff and governors, I am delighted to welcome you to Oake, Bradford & Nynehead CE (VC) Primary School.

We are a small, friendly three-class village school with a real family feel. Being a small school means that we know our children well, celebrate what makes each of them unique and support them to grow in confidence, achieve their best and feel proud to belong.

Our Christian vision, inspired by Matthew 5:16, “Let your light shine”, is at the heart of school life. Our Christian values help guide the way we learn, work and care for one another, alongside the British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance.

We are proud of our broad and engaging curriculum and, although we are a small school, we make sure our children have plenty of opportunities beyond the classroom. These include Forest School, theatre trips, sporting opportunities, visitors and special events, as well as a residential experience for children in Years 4–6.

We have good links with our local churches and communities, and we value the important part that families play in school life.

Above all, we want our school to be a place where children are happy, safe, curious and confident, where they are encouraged to aim high, care for others and truly let their light shine.
