Statutory Guidance
The Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) sets the standard for learning, development and care for children from birth to five, and more. We use this, alongside a rich and varied programme of activities and experiences, to meet the needs and interests of all children and encourage children’s natural curiosity in fun, engaging and stimulating ways.

Children with SEND
(Special Education Needs and Disabilities)
Miss McCulloch is the Early Years SenCo for the setting
At Little Acorns we create an inclusive environment for all children so that we can provide additional support for those with SEND to reach their full potential.
To ensure our plans and provision meet the needs of children with SEND we follow the requirements of the SEND Code of Practice (see the link below).
We have a clear approach for identifying, responding to, and meeting children’s needs.
SEND Support plans are written with parents and professionals. These are reviewed regularly through our Assess, Plan, Do, Review cycle so that outcomes are met or updated accordingly.
We work in partnership with the local authority and other external agencies to ensure the best outcomes for children with SEND and their families.
