  • Wellington School Maths Challenge

    Well done to Olivia, Sophie, Amelia and Kaya for representing the school in the Wellington School Maths Challenge. It was very much a challenge filled with tricky questions and over 60 schools taking part.

  • Somerset Anne Frank Youth Awards

    Huge admiration should be given to Jayden and Brooke (year 6) who were the winners of the Award for ‘supporting and caring for others in need’. The twins have been really supportive of their sister, Georgia who has cerebral palsy, oxygen dependent, non-verbal, epileptic and wheelchair bound. Their support has been recognised by the Somerset Anne Frank Awards this year hosted at Portishead Primary School, where they picked up a trophy, certificates, copies of Anne Frank’s diary and £100 cash. 

     

    Also picking up a trophy was former-OBN student, Jemima who picked up the Paul Heim Award for the nomination that most showed the 3 values of the competition.

  • Somerset Anne Frank Creative Writing Awards 2023

    We have had a fantastic set of results in the Somerset Anne Frank Creative Writing Awards this year. Out of the 15 shortlisted KS2 children, 13 were from our school! This is all very remarkable as children from 20 primary schools took part! The children in Kestrel Class all took part with Jayden, Ethan, Amelia, George, Harlee, Kaya, Aston, Dylan, Elizabeth, Lily, Ellie and Jack all achieving highly commended and being awarded a certificate and a copy of Anne Frank’s diary. Amelia C also came third and Aston came second - with both winning £25 and £50 worth of book tokens respectively.

  • KS1 visit to Oake Church

    Nuthatch and Robin class (with some children from pre-school) visited Oake Church today. The children used their eye spy sheets to find the features of the Church inside and outside. 

  • Wellington School Maths Challenge 2022

    Well done to our school team of Aston, Ashton, Dylan and George who took part in the Wellington School Maths Challenge this morning. They worked hard to solve some very challenging maths questions and came 16th out of 60 by correctly answering 15/25.

    They had an enjoyable time!

  • Kestrel Class Trip to Kilve Court

    Between Monday 17th and Wednesday 19th October, Kestrel Class visited Kilve Court for a 3-day residential. The children all enjoyed themselves and took part in a range of activities.

     

    We will be sharing more about our trip in our sharing assembly after half term.

  • Harvest Festival

    Throughout the week, the children have been exploring Harvest. On Friday, we came together for a celebration.

  • Netball Success!

    On the 5th April, our school netball team played a match against Milverton Primary School. It was a match of end-to-end action, but I am pleased to say that we were the victors 10-1!

     

    A good time was had by all!

    Scorers:

    1st Quarter - Molly (x2)

    2nd Quarter - Molly (x1)

    3rd Quarter - Jabez (x4) and a Milverton player

    4th Quarter - Grace (x2) and Maggie (x1)

     

    Captain Annie was pleased to be awarded the trophy!
