How are we a distinctive Church of England Primary School?
At Oake, Bradford and Nynehead CE VC Primary School, we strive to be distinctive in our Christian character by living out our school values each day. Collective Worship is an important part of daily school life, helping to shape our behaviour, ethos and sense of belonging within our flourishing school community.
We maintain strong links with our local parish church, St Bartholomew’s in Oake, which we visit for RE lessons, Collective Worship and to celebrate key events in the Christian calendar.
Our Christian values of love, friendship, thankfulness, fellowship, resilience and courage underpin and enrich all that we do as a united school family.

Friday – Sharing and Celebration Assembly led by Mrs Bond
Our Friday Celebration Assembly is a special opportunity to recognise pupils’ achievements and contributions to school life. Children may receive a Christian Values Certificate for demonstrating one of our school values through their words and actions, or a British Values Certificate for showing qualities such as respect, tolerance, responsibility, fairness and understanding of others.
These celebrations help children recognise how our Christian and British values can be lived out in everyday school life.
What is a No Outsiders Assembly?
Our No Outsiders assemblies help children understand that everyone is different and everyone is welcome. Through age-appropriate stories, discussions, images and real-life examples, children learn about equality, diversity, inclusion and respect. They are encouraged to celebrate difference, challenge stereotypes and understand how to treat others fairly and kindly.
This work supports our commitment to the Equality Act 2010, British Values and preparing children to live positively alongside others in modern Britain.
