Elder Class Y4/5/6
Welcome to Elder Class!
We are a fun, resilient and imaginative year 4, 5 and 6 class. We hope you enjoy visiting our class page!
Class Teacher: Miss Wheeler
Teaching Assistants: Miss White, Mrs Bray
PE Day
PE is on Thursday
Children are to come in wearing PE kit.
In the summer, the children will need to bring clothes (PE uniform or school uniform) to change into before/after PE (depending on the day) to help prepare them for secondary school and dealing with sweat and deodorants.
Children should have with them
- A labelled water bottle
- A healthy snack (fruit or vegetables)
- Their blue reading packet with their reading book, home reading record and their spelling book.
Please note: all clothes (including coats and shoes) should be labelled should they need returning to them.
Communications
At Oake, Bradford and Nynehead Primary School, we use ClassDojo to communicate with parents - sharing any exciting news and update the Class Story regularly. Parents can also contact teachers through ClassDojo if there are any queries or questions you may have! You can access ClassDojo (login required) through this link: https://www.classdojo.com/
Homework
- All children have been given a home reading diary where they are to record every time they read at home to an adult (or elder sibling). The person they read with then needs to sign to say they heard them read. The expectation is that the children will be heard read a minimum of 3 times per week at home. The reading diary will be checked every Monday.
- All children are expected to learn their spellings for the weekly spelling tests. These are to be practised at home and written out at least once in their spelling homework book. Spelling homework is due on Friday.
- To prepare the children for secondary school, year 6 children will have a CGP booklet for homework from after October half term. Details of the work set each week can be found on ClassDojo. This will be due on Friday.
